About
My personal joy comes from the process of creating art. All pieces start with an image in my mind, and it may be realized through a combination of mediums or techniques. I am a self-taught artist and I have developed my style through attending a broad range of workshops, lots of experimenting and I never stop asking questions. Thankfully, people and books are willing to give me some of the answers. Then the joy of discovery takes over!
In my world, the most incredible gift is color, and the amazing reality is that it’s always sitting there in plain sight. Not just one – but the myriad of combinations that are changing every moment.
My interest is in capturing the emotions of those color changes by creating form, movement and shadow that will evoke some kind of visceral response or sensation for the viewer. My measure of a successful image is when people see with their emotions first and intellect second.
“I don’t want to paint what I see,
I want to paint what I feel.” Marilyn
